This journal project was inspired by the rise in popularity of golf in the 1920s, more specifically for women. This new era of women in athletics led to a new aesthetic of sportswear. I was heavily inspired by the silhouettes and the knitwear from this niche aspect of the 1920s, and incorporated elements from the art of Piet Mondrian, who produced many iconic paintings of the time. I wanted to reinterpret the boyish and tailored nature of this fashion for a modern audience, shortening hemlines and adding elements of whimsy, such as Mondrian printed tights. I used Procreate to render and assemble this journal.
