One of my biggest muses as a designer has always been films, which is how my design journal inspired by 1968’s Yellow Submarine came to be. I took inspiration from the film’s bright and bold animation style and the iconic 1960s psychedelic symbolism throughout. I also wanted to pay homage to the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, since most of the music in the film comes from this album. With new interpretations of marching band uniforms and references to the unusual animations, I feel that these designs would suit any bold fanatic of the 1960s.
